You walked down the hallways as quietly as possible, taking one small step at a time, and keeping your candle lifted above your head. Why were you out so late, in the middle of the night, and a candle as the only light source? Well, you didn't hear anything or see anything that made you get up and start wandering the castle, but you... smelled something? It was like some sort of Sasha instinct, but you knew that once you smelled it, you had to find out what it was. So you put on your uniform, and started to follow it. It was heavenly, like the way a bake shop smells. Your thoughts were interrupted when you knocked over a stray rock from the pavement, making it echo throughout the halls. You cringed and stood there for a second. When nothing happened, you sighed and kept walking.

After a while of walking and following the beautiful smell, you were at the door of the kitchen. You pressed your ear against the door, but heard nothing. Light was flooding out of the cracks of the doors. You quickly blew out your own candle and set it on the floor. You sighed and knocked on the door three times. "Hello?" You asked, before opening the door. A short-ish man (still taller than you) with midnight locks turned slightly, enough for you to see him glance at you from the corner of his eyes. "Heichou?"

He turned back to the table to do whatever he was doing. "What're you doing out this late, Cadet (l/n)?" He asked. You stepped inside and closed the door behind you.

"I'd like to ask you the same question." He turned to look at you, with an eyebrow raised. "Sir." You added. He stared at you a bit longer, before walking away from his table and towards the cabinets, searching for something.

"Let's just say that I was hungry. So I wanted to make something for myself." He said, pushing objects away and pulling some down to read the labels.

"What were you going to make?" You asked, stepping forward and examining the contents of the table. Eggs, flour, sugar, milk, and water. Levi put something else on the table. Fudge?

"A French cake." He said, opening up another cabinet and pulling out a bowl.

"You... cook, sir?"

"Yes." He answered bluntly. "Now, you can help me if you want. And when we finish I'll give you a piece. Or you can go back to your room and go to sleep." He said, setting the large bowl on the table and a few utensils.

"You want me to help you?"

"Did I stutter?" He said, turning towards you. "It will get things done faster."

You pondered on what to do for a moment. I know he has a cleaning obsession, and he pretty badass when it comes to killing titans, but cooking? Goddamn, I haven't seen this side of Levi. "Okay." You said.

"Wear this." He said, putting a chefs hat on your head. He stepped back and looked at you up and down. He smirked.

"Why?" You said, trying to stare up at it.

He hummed it response. "Maybe, because it looks cute on you." He commented as he turned to the table. Your face flushed red. Did he just call me cute? You thought. You dismissed the idea. It's not like you had feelings for the man. Girl you got it bad

(Be prepared guys, I have no idea how to make a cake, so please don't say I did something wrong because I know I will XD)

"Alright, put the flour, milk, water, sugar in the bowl." He said, looking at you expectantly. You stared at him for a moment before putting everything in the bowl. He handed you a wooden spoon. "Mix it all up." He said, as he grabbed an egg. You started mixing it slowly, watching all the colors mix up into one. "Well you can do it a little faster." He said.

You started mixing it a little faster, until it became some sort of paste. Levi cracked two eggs on the side of the bowl- one on each hand -and let the yolks fall on top of the paste. "Mix that in." He said. You started rotating the spoon slowly around, watching the ingredients blend in with the eggs, before pulling yourself out of your trance and mixing faster. After everything was one color, you looked up at him. He nodded and pulled open the top of the can of fudge. He took about two spoonfuls, and dumped it inside the bowl. He took the bowl from you and started mixing it himself. "Down in that cabinet-"

"This one?" You asked, walking over to one.

"No the one next to-"

"This one?" You asked, pointing to the one to the right of the one before.

"No, the-"

"This one?" You said, moving to the right more.

"Goddammit, that one!" He said, setting the bowl on the table and nodding towards the one that was to the left of the first cabinet you chose. You muttered an "Oh." before walking over to it an opening it. "Take out the glass bowl that's in there." You held up two, one that was small, and one that was bigger. You decided the bigger one would be more useful.

You placed the glass bowl in front of Levi. He stopped mixing and poured the creamy-looking substance into it, filling it perfectly to the top. (How are they going to cook it, there are no ovens? Well guess what? In this story, ovens exist so shhhh) He opened up the already-hot door of the oven and placed the bowl inside. "Now we have to wait for about thirty minutes before that's done.

During those minuted, you and Levi both made the frosting. You were dying to just eat the damn thing right there, but you knew it would taste better with cake actually underneath it. A few times you caught Levi staring at you, watching you mix a few things together. You'd catch him at the corner of your eye with a small smile. When you looked up, he would turn back to his work with his regular bored expression, like nothing happened. Sly. You thought. Finally, Levi opened the oven and pulled out the bowl. The batter was no longer a liquidy, creamy substance, but an actual cake. Levi pulled out a plate, and flipped the bowl upside down, so the flat surface that was the top, was now the bottom. It became a sort of half-sphere.

"Now we put the icing on. You get the left side, and I'll get the right." He said, handing you a small spoon. You took it, and dipped it into the chocolate icing. "Just smear it on until it covers the whole thing." He said, seeing you lazily spread it out.

After a few moments of awkward silence between you two, you decided to bring up some conversation. "I didn't take you as a person who cooks, sir." You said.

"Levi." He corrected. You stopped and turned your head to him, giving him a look. "Only when we're alone." He added. You blinked a few times before starting to smear the icing back on the cake. "And what makes you say that?"

"Well, Levi, you seem like this... emotionless- no offence - person who's dedicated to the military." You admitted. Of course, everyone thought he was emotionless, and that he just practiced combat in his free time. Who knows, maybe he makes buffets for himself and his brooms while he's alone. You almost laughed from the thought, only showing a small smile.

"I have emotions." He said, not taking his eyes off the task. "I just tend to not show them."

"... Why not?" You dared to ask.

He stopped in his tracks, fingers pressed to the spoon as it hovered in midair. He stood there for a moment, frozen. Before you could ask him if he was alright, he put the spoon back on the cake. "It's complicated." He replied.

"... There's a rumor going around that you don't know what 'fun' is." You said with a smile.

He raised an eyebrow and turned to you with a small smile. "I know what fun is. I just don't-"

"Practice the idea of it?" You interjected, turning to look at him. His smile grew slightly wider, barely enough for you to see.

He hummed in response, and turned to the icing. "Really?" He said, more to himself than to you. He dipped a finger in the icing, and quickly brushed it against the tip of your nose, smearing it in the chocolatey paste. Your eyes and mouth widened as he let out a small chuckle at your reaction. That next moment, it was life or death. You dipped your finger in the icing, and smeared it on his cheek. You started laughing, as his expression turned to one of shock. You were shocked too, that you would take such a daring move. He rasied an eyebrow before swiftly smearing more of the icing across your forehead. You let out a small gasp before smudging some on the bridge of his nose.

It was war.

You both started trying to get each others faced covered in the slop, until you started just throwing some at his uniform. Goddamn you were in for it. But he didn't seem to care. He looked like he was having... fun. Actual fun. He grabbed a handful and threw it at your stupid chef hat, knocking it off your head. You took some more and threw some at his boots, then his neck. You were surprised he wasn't having a heart attack from how unclean his uniform was, not to mention his body. Then he took it a step further. With the leftover water, he started to toss handfuls at you. You squealed as it hit the back of your neck. You grabbed some more icing and threw it at his face, getting his entire cheek. You started laughing as he let out a chuckle and tossed some of the chocolate substance at your jacket, getting the Wings Of Freedom on the back splattered with a dark color. You grabbed the bag of flour, and tossed some of the white powder at his face. It stuck onto his face where the icing was, and to his clothes. He took the bag of sugar and started throwing some at you as well.

This food-fight got to the point where you were both ducking underneath the table to cover yourselves, and "accidentally" got some on the walls. He was good at dodging, but you were good at throwing. You finally realized that the flour was much more effective than the sugar, for the flour would stick to his clothing better than the sugar stuck to yours. He realized this too. So he took the daring move to come forward and grab it from you. Wanting to keep your secret weapon, you ran around to the other side of the table. You both ended up chasing each other around the table, him screeching "(f/n, just give me the damn bag!", and you laughing hysterically and screaming "No!" Instead of going clockwise, like you were, Levi caught you by surprise, and went the opposite way. You tried to stop yourself, but it was to late. He slipped on some of the ingredients, and ran straight into you, resulting in both of you falling to the floor, him on top of you.

As your laughing died down, and his chuckles ceased, you noticed how close you were to him. His chest was pressed up against you, his forearms caged your head in between them, and his face hovered inches away from yours. "We're going to have to clean all of this up." You whispered with a smile.

He stared into your (e/c) eyes for a moment before smirking. "Want to have some fun first?" He asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Fun? Didn't we just do that, flinging cake ingredients at each other?" You asked with a soft laugh.

He smiled. "I mean some other fun."

Before you could say anything else, he leaned down and pressed his lips against yours. Your eyes widened before fully closing. He brought a hand to your face, and cupped your cheek. You raised a hesitant hand to his head, running your fingers through his midnight hair and pulling him down more. He pulled away slightly, enough to see your eyes. You opened your (e/c) orbs to see his grey ones. "I meant that kind of fun." He said simply.

"That kind of fun?" You whispered. "Cleaning can wait for just a bit." You added before pulling him down. He captured your lips in between his, moving his hand to the back of your neck and pulling your head up towards his. You smiled into the kiss, laughing softly. He gave a gentle smile before attaching his lips once more onto yours. You both shifted, not letting go of each other, until you were both on your knees. He grabbed your waist and pulled you towards him as he leaned against the leg of the table, so you sat straddling his legs. He kissed your jawline gently, trailing down to your neck. He suddenly stopped and chuckled. "What?" You asked.

He ran a finger against your neck and held it up, showing icing. He dabbed it on your nose before pecking your lips once more. "I think it's about time that we get up, because we're covered in all of this shit." He said softly. You sighed and kissed his cheek before standing up. He stood up next to you, and gave the tip of your nose a kiss, getting some of the icing on his lips. You smiled and wiped it off with your thumb.

"We're a mess." You said, staring down at your clothing.

"Help me clean this up, then you can go clean yourself." He said, brushing some flour off your hair.

Your groaned. "I still have to clean all this up?"

He flicked your forehead. "I might like you, but you're still a brat, and you have to help me because I'm not doing this by myself."

You kissed is cheek. "I'm your brat." You corrected.
