His heart fluttered at the sound of your laughter. "Come on, Levi, Hanji isn't that annoying!" You said, another giggle escaping your lips. He rolled his eyes, suppressing a smirk that dared to reach his lips.

"That damned woman almost threw my cravat into that mud puddle. She'd better not take advantage of that month of free experiments I gave her." He mumbled, securing his arm around your shoulders as the two of you sat on his sofa.

You smiled and rest your head against his chest. "Well, no matter how bad she gets, just know you'll have me to rant to, okay?" You said. His heart rate picked up at the touch of your fingertips brushing over his palm. He mentally cringed at his inability to stop it, but how could he? Your sweet voice and gorgeous laughter made his heart soar. "Levi, are you alright? Your heart is beating unnaturally fast." You said softly, tilting your head up to meet his eyes.

Levi stared down at you for a moment, lips slightly parted as he tried to find his words. "You know that I'm not the most romantic man... right?" He said softly.

You giggled and nodded. "But that's alright." You said.

You grinned at his attempt to express his emotions. Deciding to take advantage of the usually soft spoken Levi, you wrapped your arms around his torso and gave him an innocent look. "Go on..." You said with a soft smile.

A single star in the night sky. A miracle. And... I get this weird feeling that I can't describe around you." He said, voice having a lighter tone to it.

Your expression was attentive, chin resting on his shoulder. "Can you try to describe the feeling?" You whispered, curious as to what was inside his mind.

He was no longer annoyed by your slight pushiness, more grateful for helping him express his emotions. "I'm scared to say it's love, but it seems that it's so." He said, lips twitching up into a small smirk. He turned his head, looking down to face you. "I hope you're not freaked out when I say I love you."

You grinned and leaned up, pecking his lips. The touch sent a jolt of electrifying excitement through his body, though he was sure to conceal it well. "I love you too." You whispered.

Something cold touched your palm, a light weight set down as Levi wrapped your fingers around it. He looked off to the side, avoiding your gaze. You gave him a confused look, before uncurling your fingers and staring down into your hand.

You were silent for a moment, staring down at it with wide eyes. Levi gave you an expectant look. "Well?" He asked, quirking an eyebrow. You could feel his heart beating faster and faster by the second against your arms that were wrapped around him. He concealed it with an unknown skill, face stoic as ever.

You smiled down at the ring, before slipping it on your finger. A soft sigh escaped Levi's lips, almost one of relief. He leaned down and placed a gentle kiss to your lips, before pulling you closer to him once again. You giggled lightly, resting your head back on his chest. You couldn't help but smile at the still fast pace of his heart as you laced your fingers with his.
