~A/N: Listen As You Read! www.youtube.com/watch?v=CUdWdG… ~

Can you read out the words written on the black board,
Can you read into why that kid won't smile anymore?
Who was it that dyed my heart so jet black?
Do you know who it was,
Do you know who it was?!

    How tedious.

His shadowed ashen-silver hues flitted about the dull beige room, only items of furniture a bleak set of crudely whittled wooden chairs, his snow-colored bed, the small table with incomprehensible statements and profanities carved into the surface, and the single barred window facing the ocean-view he was dearly lucky to obtain. He sat cross-legged on the large windowsill, eyeing a familiar colorful fluttering creature flapping its vibrant wings as if it wanted his attention. It perched innocently on the glass of the window, mocking his imprisonment as it delicately waved its wings about, flashing their multicolored exterior. Gritting his teeth harshly, he pressed his index finger against the glass, turning his wrist for his hand to fit through the emerald bars blocking him from "breaking free" as the nurses put it.

Then again, what did they expect him to do? Jump down onto the pointed rocks to his ultimate death, or to sprout feathers and glide into the ocean to live with the dolphins? Please, he may have been a bit psychotic but he wasn't an idiot. He never intended on escaping, despite the doctors proclaiming him as one of the most dangerous men possible -which obviously flattered him beyond belief- yet he wasn't quite ready to run desperately away from his cage of solitude. For, if he did, he'd feel more haunted than he already was. Oddly, all he felt was blank. Not black, not white, not grey, just... a blank space waiting to find its purpose, waiting to be filled with a future, one he was sure he was to never have ever again.

Muttering vacantly to himself, he kept his gaze on the fluttering insect as he spoke in his usual gruff and scratchy voice. "I told you not to come back, fucking idiot," he hissed, draping an arm over his leg drawn to his chest. "Why is it so goddamn hard to get a little peace and quiet in an asylum? I thought this package excluded you and your non-consistent ramblings popping up every now and then to ruin my day."

"You know, you weren't always an ass."

"Remind me of a time when I wasn't."

Can you solve an equation on this calculator?
Can you loosen the noose around that kids neck later?
Can I stay sane If I remain the same?

An exasperated sigh left her rosy lips as her ghostly figure seemed to float beside him, resting her hand delicately on his shoulder where he felt nothing but a gentle breeze materializing from nowhere in particular. He clenched his jaw at the odd tingling sensation of nothing and everything brushing over his shoulder blades, hands slowly curling into fists as he fiercely shut his eyes. He felt her breath feather off the shell of his ear as she whispered gently. "Relax... You're safe now... There's nothing to fear-"

    "WELL, HOW WOULD YOU KNOW?!"

His sudden outburst caused her cadaverous figure so shrink backwards as he jumped off the windowsill, pointing an accusing finger at her apparitional form that seemed to illuminate a pale glow. "You're the fucking witch that slammed me in here in the first place! YOU DON'T KNOW MY FEAR!"

"Levi, I had to put you in here, you were going mad!" she protested, blurry palms attempting to cup his cheeks.

"DON'T TOUCH ME!" he screeched, stumbling away from her. "You didn't listen to me, you didn't care that I was horrified of these nightmares. You didn't try to console me, you didn't try to help me, NO! YOU CALLED THIS PRISON AND SLAMMED THE DOOR ON ME!"

"Levi, you were calling me a titan-shifter, don't you remember? You were screaming at me that you'd kill me if I went near you! You were rambling on about being Humanities Strongest Soldier, and that it was your duty to slaughter every last one of my kind. You said that I was the last one and that you needed to kill me! Levi, don't you remember any of that?" He remained silent, fists clutched tightly to his sides as she continued. "You came at me with a knife and I hid in the bathroom and called the police... You knocked down the door before they got there and murdered me... Don't you remember any of that, Levi?"

His gaze lingered on her spiritual form, how her body seemed to end somewhere about her knees, how she hadn't even touched the floor. He wasn't sure of anything. He just wanted to be like the butterfly mocking him on the other side of the windowpane. Numb, and free from his cage. "And you're the one calling me mad," he said with a harsh laugh. "You're just here to mock me in my imprisonment, I know that as soon as you threw me in here you went and slept with the Commander!"

    "Levi, no, who's the Commander?"

"GET OUT! I TOLD YOU BEFORE THAT I DON'T WANT YOU BACK IN HERE! YOU NEVER SUPPORTED ME, YOU NEVER LOVED ME, YOU JUST THOUGHT I WAS SOME SICK PATHETIC BASTARD!" he shouted, pressing himself to the dull beige wall.

"No, please," her blurred figure begged, orbs sparkling with tears as they began to streak down her cheeks. "I've told you that I can only see you a few times in a form that you can clearly visualize me, but why won't you listen, Levi? I love you, even though you-you-" she began getting choked up as she wiped the water droplets away from her glistening hues. "Even though you stabbed me over... over ten times, I still love you-"

"GET OUT!" he shrieked, grabbing one of the wooden chairs and hurling it in her direction with all his might.

And with that, her ghostly countenance seemed to dissipate from his vision just before the seat touched the place she had been not even a second ago, and instead impacting with the wall. As he began to feel that wonderful numb sensation, all was silent once again.

    Deafening silence.

What is there to do?
It just doesn't matter!

The Lost One's Weeping- Neru ft. Ketsuban~ www.youtube.com/watch?v=CUdWdG…

Dedicated to these four babies for being amazing angst queens~ :iconthenobodyofasoldier: :iconpostie-toastie: :iconcaptain-fan: :iconkatsuhana:

Okay so I don't watch the anime this song comes from (I'm assuming it comes from an anime?) but my friend December-m32006 showed it to me aND I JUST WANT TO JAM OUT TO IT LIKE DAMN DESPITE IT BEING SAD
So I also had another idea about Levi in an asylum and then I was going to write a separate one to this song where the reader is dead, but then I thought "HEY, WHY NOT COMBINE THEM, BELA?" and then bAM Insane Levi in an asylum with ghost reader I DID IT MOTHERFUCKERS I KILLED TWO BIRDS WITH ONE STONE!

So basically, Levi kept having nightmares about the AoT canon universe and he claimed the reader as a titan-shifter and killed her before the cops came and threw him into an asylum. So the reader as a ghost comes every now and then to visit him and try to convince him that she didn't do it and then he gets mad and ALL THIS CHAOS HAPPENS
Don't you love angst month?
