After Tonight (Eren X Reader)

Sasha leaned towards your tray and winked at Connie. The boy nodded and turned to you. "Hey (f/n)!" He called. You faced him and hummed in acknowledgement. Sasha motioned for him to continue as she outstretched her arm towards the freshly baked loaf on your plate, wiggling her fingers in attempt to get it. "Um... Has uh... Has anyone ever told you that your eyes are really pretty?" He said quickly, unsure of what else to say.

"Connie!" Sasha said, narrowing her eyes with the bread in her hand. You turned back to her and quickly snatched it back. Sasha glared at Connie and smacked him over the head. "See? Since you were flirting with her, I didn't get my bread!"

"I wasn't flirting! I couldn't come up with anything else!" He protested.

"Flirting?" Eren spoke from beside you. "You were-"

"NO! I WASN'T!" Connie said, crossing his arms defiantly.

Eren glared at him and wrapped an arm around your waist, protectively pulling you closer to his form. "You better not have been." He murmured. You giggled and kissed his cheek.

"He wasn't, don't worry." You told him with a grin. He muttered a few more things before burying his face into the crook of your neck. You rolled your eyes with a small smile and put your head on top of his.

"Y'know what day it is?" Eren whispered.

"Uh... monthly Prank Levi Day?" You asked, pulling away slightly. He smiled and shook his head, pulling away as well. "Then I don't know." You told him.

He looked a little hurt, but it soon vanished as he laced his fingers with yours. "Today would be an entire year that we've been together." He said, pecking your lips lightly.

"Of course I know that. I was just seeing if you remembered." You said, hoping that was enough to conceal your forgetfulness. He suddenly stood, pulling you up with him. "Wait, where are we going?" You asked as he tugged you towards the door.

"Armin? You mind coming with me?" Eren said once he got to the door. Armin looked confused for a moment, resulting in Eren widening his eyes slightly and nodding towards the door. Armin's mouth went into a small 'o' in realization, as he quickly stood up and followed you out. "I just have a little something for you." Eren said as he tugged you alone.

So he pulled you outside into the warm summer night. Past the gates and towards a tree that stood a little ways off. Armin trailed along behind, close but still keeping his distance. You all stopped at a grassy patch of land, where the green strands tickled your knees. There were two logs facing each other, with a large tree a little behind them. The moonlight made everything shimmer with a peaceful and enchanting glow.

Eren sat you down on the log so you were facing the castle, and Armin sat on the one across from you, back turned away from the building. Eren nodded to Armin and turned back to you. "As a little present... I wanted to sing to you." He said, nervously scratching the back of his head.

You smiled and stared up at him. "Sing?"

"Yeah. And Armin's here to uh... play the guitar since I have no idea how to." He explained. Armin smiled at you and reached down, pulling the instrument out of the hollow log where he must have concealed it in. The blonde tinkered with the chords a bit before starting the soft melody. Eren grinned and sat down beside you, straddling the log. He tipped your chin up so your (e/c) orbs met with his.

"There's something in your eyes
Is everything alright?

He pecked your lips lightly before grabbing your hand and slowly standing, pulling you up with him.

"Give me your right hand

Eren smiled and let you sit down again, backing away from you with a mischievous glint in his eyes.

He had made his way round you and now had his hands on your shoulders.

You smiled as he came back in front of you. He pulled you up and tugged you along with him until you were underneath the large tree. The moonlight hit the tree in just the right way to make it's shimmery glow dapple the floor with glorious patterns. He pulled you close to him so your chests were touching.

And if I'm getting near
I'll tell you where to steer

He cupped your face with his hand and tilted your head up so you could see through a small hole in the canopy. It revealed the midnight sky with it's stars shining over the both of you.

He let go of your form and backed away slowly, motioning for you to follow. Your grin only grew in size as you trailed after him.

You were a little bit in front of him as he backed away from you with that same odd gleam in his green eyes. He stopped in his tracks and quickly pulled you against his body. He chuckled at your slight yelp and dragged you along with him back towards the tree.

"Now come away with me

Just for one night"

He softly pinned you against the trunk of the tree, pressing his forehead against yours.

"Noone will ever know

He pulled you away from the tree and spun you around in a circle as a light laugh escaped your lips. He smiled and tugged you against him once again as you began a small and awkward dance. It was nevertheless perfect to you.

He spun you around again, catching you as you almost fell from the clumsy actions that only made the dance more perfect. You both laughed as you continued to move around in the tall grass, the guitar still playing in the background.

He was panting lightly as the clumsy little dance came to a stop. He grinned with his green eyes shining. He turned around and coughed a little. "Ah, Armin? Do you um... mind?" He asked, nodding his head towards you. The blonde's eyes widens as his face adorned a blush. He stood awkwardly for a moment before grasping the guitar in his hands and walking back to the castle. Eren turned back to you with a small smile. "So...? What did you think?"

You wrapped your arms around his torso and buried your face in his chest. "It was beautiful, Eren." You murmured. He draped his arms about your waist and held you close. "But..."

"But what?" Eren asked, slightly afraid he messed something up.

"... I didn't get to do anything for you." You mumbled, guilt rising from the pit of your stomach to the tip of your tongue. Eren sighed and pulled away from you. He tipped your chin up so your worried eyes met with his comforting ones.

"You being here is my gift, okay? You don't have to give me anything except your love." He said.

You were silent for a moment. "I want to give you one thing." You said with a smile.

"What?" He asked, tilting his head to the side.

You stood on your toes and pressed your lips against his. He laughed into the kiss and pressed back softly, before pulling away with a final peck.

"I think I need a gift a little bigger than that." He said, leaning in.

You put your finger up against his soft lips and shook your head. "Maybe next year." You told him with a smirk.

He shrugged and kissed your fingertip. "I'll get a few gifts in between the year anyway." He said. You giggled and hugged him once again.

"So what was the message of the song, hm?" You murmured.

He hummed softly, kissing the top of your head. "That... as long as we're together... after tonight, you don't have to wish anymore. I'll help make your dreams come true so you don't have to look up at the stars and wish for something. You'll have me."

You smiled against his shirt. "I like that idea." You whispered.

He hugged you closer and sighed. "Me too."
